When I'm using the python to import the data and I got a time out error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm currently trying to load several Python datasets. However, it's taking so long to load that the queries failed with the error - ADO.NET: Python execution timeout. The script execution was terminated, since it was running for more than 1800000 miliseconds.

how to change the time out setting?

  • Hi,

In PQ for many sources you may specify CommandTimeout parameter, like this (1 hour timeout):

    = Sql.Databases("Server", [CommandTimeout = #duration(0,1,0,0)])

  • I haven't work with Python.Execute function yet, but since its first argument is python script, second argument - parameters, which may be transferred to this script, I suppose, you can't set timeout with PQ, it may be possible only on Python side.

  • Hi, it's not currently possible to change the default timeout of 30 minutes for running custom Python scripts.
