  • Re-activate Publishing and Standard site Features on the site in question.  Retry and see if the error still occurs.  If it works, you may have to uninstall the WSP, then disable the noted Features and then reinstall the WSP.

If reactivating the Features doesn't solve the error, uninstall the WSP and then re-install the WSP.  Test the site in question again.

I trust that answers your question...

    Thanks

  • No help Cornelius,

I first uninstalled WSP from Solution management in Central Admin site and then went to the subsite http://Server/GMP/Pages/default.aspx and then I went to the Site Features of this site and then Deactivated the Publishing and Standard site Features. Then i Re deployed the WSP but the same error? as above.

  • Most of the time when you see this error in a publishing site, it will be related to missing column in a content type.Cross check your Page Layout fields and make sure every fields (columns) available in the current site.

Open your page layout in SPD and check the fields.

You could use sharepoint manager tool (http://spm.codeplex.com/releases/view/22762) available in codeplex and cross check the columns (Content Type) in the site.
