How to get all the list names in a site from the client side? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I try to dynamically get the names of all the lists in my site using a content query web part, but apparently a CQWB can only retrieve the items in the list, but not the list name? I'm wondering how can i go this, maybe using jquery? Thank you very much for your help!!!

  • Hi,

    Try this topic: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee857094.aspx

You can use Client Object Model to get the name of all list in sharepoint app.

you can also you the out-of-the-box sharepoint web services (eg. http://somesite/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx)

    hope this helps.

  • You can use the Client-Context Model provided by the SharePoint 2010. There are two modes of this model

    1. Through C# code

    2. Javascript

As you need at the Client Side you can use the Javascript Client Context Model. For more detail can refer to this link

    Hope this will work
