Forecasting RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have drawn up a construction work programme that runs over 15 months and now I would like to know how do I see a percentage complete forecast for the next 15 months, i.e. by month 3 we should be 23% complete, following month 29%, etc. etc.

  • Hi 10111ivan,

You need to mark tasks as on-track...  This will update the status of the tasks.  The simplest way to do this would be to use the Update Project dialog box as per the screen shot.

  • If you need to see the predicted % complete by month, then:

    1.  Save you project and set the whole project to 100% complete.
    2. Then apply the Task Usage Task Usage view.
    3. Right-click the main yellow area and select Detail Styles..
    4. Add Cumulative % complete to the Show fields
    5. Click OK
    6. Adjust timescale to monthly to see a predicted monthly % complete

Save the project for reference with a different name.

More useful is saving a baseline if you haven't already. That way when you accurately update when tasks actually happen you get a more accurate view of performance.
