Outbound Source Number Translation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to translate the outbound source number in Lync on a bulk basis?   Through the control panel there is the option to set the caller ID to a specific number but what I want to do is translate the first 7 digits for example and leave the last 3?

The reason is that I intend to run this alongside an Avaya system and for the moment need it so that when the Lync users dial out they present their Avaya DDI.

I can't seem to find any realistic way of doing this for approx 600 users.

    Thanks

  • J,

You cannot do this on Lync server side. However, if I understand correctly, Lync sits behind Avaya and so, you could manipulate the outbound Caller ID on Avaya side, before the call is passed to PSTN.

  • You can achive the desired functionality with Lync Server 2013.
