Lync Basic to Skype for Business upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

As I know, Skype for Business upgrade is available for Full Lync Client versions. Is there a Skype for Business upgrade for Lync Basic available right now? How do I go about the process of upgrading it?

    Thanks!

  • Here is a good link how to update, since July you could use the default updates also for the basic client.

  • Hi Mark.delrosario,

Welcome to post in our forum.

As a supplement, Skype for Business client is part of Microsoft Office 2013. So you have to upgrade your office version to latest office version in order to get Skype for Business 2015 client.

    Please refer to

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/office-2013-365-update?wa=wsignin1.0

You may try the following suggestions.

    1. Download and install the updates via Windows Update.

    2. Manually download and install the updates from the following KB.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2889923

Note : You must install both patches on a minimum build of 15.0.4569.1506 (SP1). If you haven’t installed Service Pack 1 for Office 2013, please install it first.

    Hope this helpful to you.
