I backed up files to an external hard drive from my XP system and selectively restored a couple of folders to my Vista system. I used the MS NTBackup-Restore utility and restored a backup file on my daughter’s settings which is a separate partition on my C: drive. When I tried to open it I get the message “You don’t currently have permission to access this folder. Click continue” etc. It asks for an administrator’s password, which I type in; I then get “You have been denied permission to access this folder. You will need to use the security tab”. I seem to have tried everything including taking ownership and I cannot open it; I cannot even delete it. Can anyone help?
