Server Technical Preview 2 Build 10074 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Server Technical Preview 2 Build 10074

There is currently no Thread option for a Server Tech Preview, so this is my best option.

When I click the 'Settings' button, the purple screen pops up, then closes right away. Sometimes it tells me that the Remote Procedure Call Failed. I also do not have an option for 'Windows Update' in the Control Panel, nor are there any options available for Windows Update.

Thank you for your reply. I'd searched google, bing, yahoo, etc looking for this, and nothing ever came up.

  • Hi,

I have moved the thread to technical preview forums.

    Known issue about windows update.

In this release, updating the system with automatic updates, Sconfig.exe Option 5, or Windows Update in the Control Panel does not work.

To apply updates to Windows Server Technical Preview, open a command prompt and run Sconfig.exe. In Sconfig, select Option 6, “Download and Install Updates.” Windows Update will scan the system and query the update location you have configured with either Windows Update or Windows Server Update Server, and then install any new updates.
