iPhone software update causes memory dump blue screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using an ACER aspire 5741G with Windows 7, core i3 processor (2.13GHz, 3MB L3 cache) 4gb Ram and am trying to update my iPhone software. Each time I try to download and install the software update for iPhone 3Gs through iTunes (approx 400MB in size) at about 100MB into download the physical memory dump blue screen occurs. and automatically restarts the computer. I have made sure I have all Windows updates installed. The last time it displayed the message that the network connection had timed out, but my internet connection was still active.

  • Hi Marlene,

    yes this link works.

Update your Huawei driver to fix the crashes:

  • To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows.

Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here.

  • Hi Andre, I think this link will work for the minidump folder.

    http://cid-ba8f08c03fcaf65d.office.live.com/browse.aspx/MiniDump?Bsrc=EMSHHM&Bpub=SN.Notifications

The earliest minidump occurred before I tried to download the iPhone software.

    Thanks for your assistance
