Editing the powershell_ise.exe.config RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi i'm trying to edit my powershell_ise.exe.config file to allow it to load "v2.0.50727". however, when I edit the file I get the message that I do not have access to edit the file. I am the administrator on the server, and I have tried changing the permissions on the file but I am unable to do so. Can anyone provide guidance on hos I can gain control of this file to edit it?

  • Hi

If you go to advanced permissions are you able to add your account in?

  • There is a File permission issue here cause by the fact that I'm on a Terminal Server and I do not have rights to edit this file.
The problem also exists with Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted  however I can get past that with -scope CurrentUser

Is there a way that I can set the PS IDE to use an alternate .config file or set the scope to the CurrentUser

As an alternative, can I interactively set  loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true"  from with the IDE PS window ?

    Thanks,
