Backup Tool for Custom List - Sharepoint 2010 Foundation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Could anyone suggest a good backup tool for Sharepoint 2010 Foundation ? espcially to backup and restore custom lists.

We currently have CommVault and Veeam. Both of these tools will backup custom lists but do not support restore functionality.

I have looked at AvePoint Backup Manager so far and it seems promising. Just wondering if anyone has experience with other backup tools ?

    Thanks much.

  • Refer to this article having list of backup and recovery solutions available on the market. Also there are some options to script the backup and restore of site collections and sub-sites:

Check this article describes how to back up customizations that have been made to Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 sites.

Here is a TechNet resource that provides details on the backup and recovery options:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662536.aspx

  • Hi CSharpAlex,

If you want full granularity to the backups you are going to want to take a look at the third party tools from companies like AvePoint, Quest, Idera, etc.

Besides, here is a TechNet resource that provides details on exporting sites, lists, or document libraries in SharePoint SharePoint Foundation 2010:
