Using RD Gateway intelligently RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

What I want is a way to have a single RD Gateway host poking through a firewall at a datacentre, several separate RD session hosts available behind it as discreet private cloud servers that can each be accessed *without* any deep client configuration of the RDP client on a PC outside the firewall.

What's the best way to do that?

i.e. I don't want to ask the external users to start configuring RD Gateway settings into RDP clients, and have to deal with that amount of support headache.  I've tried pointing the external DNS FQDNs for each box into both the internet and internal DNS and working it like that, but it appears that the default setting of "automatically detect RD Gateway server settings" doesn't actually do anything unless you've configured it via group policy (which is impossible for a cloud customer).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Mike.
