    Question

  • Hi Team,

    when i make changes to registry , will it take take some time to effect.

    How are group policy related to registry in domain environment , do we configure group policies for registry entries /updated like that??

    Please let me know.

    It´s completly depending on the application/target you manipulate.
    Sometime Application can read values dynamically, somtimes the app needs
    to be closed and start again and sometime the session must be restartet
    (reboot/logoff-logon)

    GPOs can be deployed in background, but the efect is like the above
    discription.

    - administrative templates
    - firewall advanced configuration
    - public key
    - software restriction polices / Applocker
    - a lot more ...
     
    ... all settings the are written to "registry.pol" in GPT/Sysvol.

    Can you please tell me what all (applications/software/) depends on registry in production? if i have corrupt registry will my machine work ?

    what is the role of registry for productions and normal home based machines.
