  • Issue: Email truncated in Outlook 365

    Environment: Outlook 365 installed on system and adding email account to outlook client that was hosted by third party service provider (AWS- WorkMail).

    Status: Some email doesn’t sync completely, (truncated) which are perfectly accessible through AWS web access website and Windows Mail App.

    The email sync completely in outlook on a system, if the computer has already primary email account and add this AWS-WorkMail account as second or third.

    Tries:

    1-      1- Tried setting up new system completely and installing office 365 suite, add same AWS WorkMail as first account but issue persist (Screenshot shows outlook is connecting to Microsoft exchange)

    2-     2-  Tried adding AWS WorkMail as second or third account but issue cleared (Screenshot shows outlook is connecting to AWS exchange)

    Issue raised to MS support  ( Shekhar Konda - Office 365 Ambassador -m365sup7@microsoft.com )  , he said that this is a client usability issue which is outside O365 support and referred me to Office TechCenter to report and get help .

    Do you mean issue continues on a new fresh computer?

    Have you compared if there are any difference between these computers? Such as GPO, software.

    Does it happen to specific emails?

    Considering this situation, this issue seems to be more related with system environment, than single Outlook client. Please check following suggestions:

         1. Corrupted views make these emails invisible

    Please exit Outlook, press Win key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /cleanviews and then press Enter. This will help reset views.

        2. Check antivirus programs' integration with Outlook client

    Please temporarily exit all antivirus programs or turn off firewall on these computers to test the result.

        3. Add-ins

    According to my experience, some third-party add-ins would possibly cause this issue.

    We can try opening Outlook in safe mode to see if the issue continues. Please exit Outlook, press Win key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and then press Enter.

        4. Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) for Office 365

    For Office 365 client, we could use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) to run tests to resolve many different problems. For more details, please refer to this link.

    Does it happen to all users?

    If they send an email to themselves, will outlook receive the new email?

    For Exchange account, we can also switch to Online mode to test the result.

    Do you download Office 365 suit from Microsoft website?

    Is that issue only occurs when adding AWS account as the first account in Outlook client?
