Power Query Native query generation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm running into an issue where the native SQL query generated by power query is running into complications.

The SQL server creates different query plans depending on data type.  I.e.

    Query plan for

    select * from x where numericValue = 1.46510+003

is substantially different and slower than

    select * from x where numericValue = 1465.1

I've tried playing with settings inside power query but I've exhausted my options.  Can you please consider a switch for the way the numeric literals are output in the Native SQL query?

Do you know of any workarounds?

Is the difference in performance because you have an index on that column which SQL Server isn't picking when it infers that the parameter type is float?
