How to generate an XLM file from Project 2016 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to convert the data of my project into an XLM file, but when I try to do that, MS Project Pro 2016 crashes almost every time. When it doesn't crash, the XLM file is not readable. I tried on several PCs with no avail.

    Any idea?

    Thanks for your help

  • WLID1966,

It sounds like the file may be corrupt. Ordinarily saving to XML is a good way to clear corruption but it doesn't always work.

I assume you can open the file without problems in Project 2016. I'd try both methods 1 and 3 detailed in the following Wiki article. Then try a save to XML.

    Hope this helps.
