Problems publishing a http web application (application specific hostname) to a https trunk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am currently trying to publish one of our internal http websites through a https trunk, as I am using the http connection for redirection. The website works fine when clicking on the link on the portal page, however when I try to navigate directly to the hostname, the log in screen appears as expected, but then it re-directs me to the portal page and I have to click the link to take me to the website.

I have trawled google for this one but must be typing in the wrong thing! Hopefully someone here understands me!

    Many thanks

  • Thanks Ashu.

I decided to add a https binding to the internal website so all is working now. Really appreciate your response.

    Cheers

  • Hi Andrew,

If I have understood your issue correctly, it redirects you to https portal page.

When you create https trunk it binds 443 port to the external Ip address. Socket created is for port 443 not for port 80.

When you publish application specific app on port 80 in https trunk, still socket for port 80 is missing and redirection mechanism takes you to the original trunk portal page that is on 443.

    Cheers....
