How to confirm if DPM agent is pointing to the correct DPM server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to confirm if DPM agent is pointing to the correct DPM server? and if it is pointing to the wrong server, how to point it to the correct one without re-install of the agent?

This is for Windows Server 2008 R2 and DPM is on Server 2012 R2, DPM vision 4.2

    Thanks,

  • For checking which server owns the agents, this forum answer explains in detail.

For setting another DPM server to an agent config, open a command prompt on your protected/agent machine and type:

    cd %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\DPM\bin
    SetDpmServer.exe –dpmServerName <Your DPM server FQDN>
