Repeated ielowutil.exe runtime errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • Although I do not run IE, I repeatedly get pop ups stating that ielowutil.exe has caused a runtime error.  Pop ups are random and even occur when the computer is idle.  I have updated to Win 7 (64 bit) SP 1 and IE9.  Problem occurred both before and continues after upgrading Win SP1 and IE9.  (More than 250 error messages over past several months!)

    Help, please.

  • Hi,

IELowUtil.exe is the broker process that handles operations which require processing at a Low Integrity level. According to your description, it seems a software conflict issue.

Currently, I suggest you check if this issue occurs in Safe Mode with networking, if not, try to perform a Clean Boot to check the culprit.

    Hope it helps.
