Connecting to a RDS 2012R2 collection using HTML5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are running RDS 2012 R2 collections and i would like to know if its possible to connect to this collection using HTML5.
Will it be enough to upgrade my existing 2012r2 gateways to 2016 to support this connections?

    Thx,

    Levd

  • Hi,

We can upgrade current OS version in order to support HTML5(Remote Desktop Web Client). Please note, there are more pre-requirement for HTML5(Remote Desktop Web Client):
    1. Remote Desktop deployment has an RD Gateway, an RD Connection Broker, and RD Web Access running on Windows Server 2016 or 2019.
    2. RDS deployment is configured for per-user client access licenses (CALs) instead of per-device.
    3. Computers your users will connect to are running one of the following OS versions:
    Windows 10
    Windows Server 2008R2 or later

Check “Set up the Remote Desktop web client for your users” for more detail information:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/remote-desktop-web-client-admin
