Dot Matrix Printer for Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Does anyone out there know any Dot Matrix printer that is compatible with Windows Server 2008?

My company is setting up a Windows Server 2008 with RDS for our 2nd office which is located in another State.

The users from 2nd office will need a Dot Matrix printer to print Invoices & Bills. Terminal Server support printing but printer drivers need to be installed on Server (located in 1st office) & also PC/Laptop (2nd office where Dot Matrix printer will be located).

Kindly advise. Thank you in advance.

  • Oki and Epson do a range of Dot matrix printers for cheque runs, invoice and pay-slips. The LQ 630 and the Oki Microline 3390 range come with USB (as opposed the older parrallel) connections so should be totally fine with Server 2008.

    Good luck

  • Barry pretty much has this one. x64 versions of Windows Server 2008 on both Dell R210/310 and Cisco C-series servers will support the dot-matrix printers. USB like Barry said.

Just like the chipset and other systembase devices you'll have to manually install the drivers on such servers running x64 OSs.
