What causes the App screen in Windows 10 not to open after inactivity. RRS feed

  • Question

  • This started with a Windows 10 Update in mid January of 2016. This freeze can occur once or twice in the day and usually always in the morning when awakened. The computer power management is set for "Never sleep for the disk" in both places. This still happens if the display is also kept on continuously. This is an HP 8.1 desktop which was updated in July of 2015 to Windows 10 and this bug never occurred until this last update. Microsoft has this feedback from many people but is never resolved. Geek Squad has attempted this problem three times since January and the computer does the same the next day. I am able to play my music through I-Tunes icon on the desktop screen but not through Groove Music when the APP screen doesn't work. I also cannot use the internet icons on the toolbar but I can look at the control panel.
