Project Server 2013 Out of Office Sync with Exchange 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All.

We are experiencing an issue that the OoO times from exchange is not synced with project resource.

I have enabled the out of office sync feature in "sharepoint central administration" and also enabled a few resources for the OoO Sync.

Now when i'm assigning a task to a resource which shouldn't be available i cannot see that this resource is not available.

Is there anything else needing to be configured to get this working?

Answers

  • ok the solution is:

The Service Account used for "Project queue" must be mail enabled in your exchange environment.

And also good to know, only Time marked as "out of office" are synced with project. Time marked as "busy" is not synced with project.

    so this is solved now.

  • Does somebody know if there is additional configuration required for getting free/busy times from exchange server?

e.g. a service account needing an exchange mailbox enabled to get the free/busy times ?

  • still not working, here is the part from the ULS log when the task is running:

The interesting part of the log could be:

It looks like the job gets a result "0x00217CE" with error "has no entities explicitly specified" ?

How could i dig deeper from here or what does tell me "has no entities explicitly specified" ?

  • Found this in the Project 2013 Admin Guide:

Note   A requirement for this feature is that the Project queue is required to run under a mail-enabled user account.

Does somebody know how to change the Project queue service account, so i can use a mail-enabled account?

    Thanks in advance.
