See which files are synchronizing? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I see which files are changing on a protected server? The 15 minute sync is usually around 1.5gb - I'd like to see which files are changing, but, I can't find where that info is stored?

  • Hi,

Because DPM only brings over block level changes of files that have changed since the last synch, there is no direct / easy way on capturing which files are effected.  DPM uses a combination of the USN journal and a file system filter driver to track file changes and transfer those changes during a synchronization.  Dumping the usn journal and seeing which files have been written to is one way, or you can use the task manager builtin resource monitor on the PS server and note the files being read from by DPMRA during a synchronization.
