2 internal domain and 2 different email domains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I have a situation in which I need to add a sub domain (br.abcd.local) to my existing internal domain (abcd.local).
The situation is, email accepted domain assoicated with abcd.local is I need to associate with br.abcd.local sub domain and still maintain both the internal domain, both the external name, access resorces internally between users of abcd.local & br.abcd.local at the same time, maintain 2 different MX records and maintain their own email.
The domain in Windows 2008 and Excahnge 2007.
I am not forgetting the fact multiple domain is discouraged.
    Any input is appreciated.

  • As far as accepted domains are concerned, refer to or if you have more specific questions, post them on the Exchange forum. I'm not entirely clear what you mean by "maintain their own email" - can you be more specific?

  • Exhange uses the AD so you can only have one Exchange site per AD forest.  Exchange writes to the Microsoft Exchange container within the Configuration Naming Context.
