How to install Access 2003 with Office 2010 already installed? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Office 2010 (all of it) installed; it all works fine. But I need to run an old Access 2003 application but it chokes on Access 2010. How can I install Access 2003 without uninstalling Office 2010 (or Access 2010) and have both versions of Access available on my machine to use? Please help!

  • I'd use a sandbox or portable app.   ThinApp is what I'm using.  Much easier to isolate them, then it is to install them in the correct order to make them play nice together.

Otherwise, a lot of people like using XP mode / Unity Mode from a virtual machine.

  • ThinApp looks interesting and one that would work -- though to solve this for over $6000 for an annual license is much too steep. I am looking into using XP mode on a virtual machine. Thanks.
