VPN configuration setup

  • Win 8.1 Pro

    Server 2012 R2 with RRAS/VPN

    Cisco RV042G VPN Router

I am attempting to get the "first" VPN connection working. I have the Cisco setup for Microsoft VPN client. In Win 8.1 I setup VPN client as Microsoft with correct VPN IP address.

When I attempt to connect, I enter domain logon & PW. I get error 850 back... The EAP type required for authentication of the remote access connection is not installed on  your computer.

I see no settings in Win 8.1 What are they so I can match to Cisco.

For this issue, please check the following steps first:

    1.Press Win+R ,type ncpa.cpl,and then press enter.

2.Right-click VPN , and open the properties of the VPN Connection and select the security tab. Set the authentification to “allow these protocols.

3.If you didn't check the option, please check it to see if it works.
