Missing Recoverable Items DPM 2012R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • DPM Protection Group shows  that a specific folder on a drive being backed up is being backed up. No alerts that the protection group is failing. (all green) However the specific folder does not show up when trying to restore it. All files and folders are available for restore above it. Any clues to, one, why this may be happening, and two, how to get the files and this folder to be backed up? (not listed in exception rules)

    Thanks in advance.

  • Interesting, I did a restore from the directory above and the 'Archive" directory did restore. I wouldn't say this is a major bug, but something that should be fixed.

This still exists in DPM 2016 (5.0.247.0).  I just tried to restore a users file and in their folder only three files showed, two 6+ year old documents and $recycle.bin.  I restored the parent folder and all of the users files (1500+) restored without issue.

If you aren't expecting this (and why would you?) this can make your heart skip a beat thinking it really hasn't been backing up.

Glad I ran across your post!
