  • Hi Lovely,

If I understand correctly, you are looking for a way to manage the iterative and incremental agile software development method for managing software projects, Please see below MSDN article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412648.aspx

    Does that help?

  • You can create Enterprise custom field of task type  named Iteration with lookup table values like Iteration1, Iteration2, iteration3...., Release etc

You can also create Enterprise custom field of task type  named Phase with lookup table values like Code and Unit test, Concept, Documentation, Functional design, Regression test etc.

Later when you create a project incorporate the Iteration and Phase enterprise custom fields in the Gantt chart view or a custom view. After adding tasks add the appropriate value in Iteration and Phase custom fields.  While creating a project you can also give summary task names such as Iteration1,Iteration2 etc.

Please let me know if this helps.

  • Thanks a lot Amit and Roopkumar.

Your reply helped me a lot.

So we can have each Iteration as a summary task and need to manage tasks in each iteration as its subtasks and if we need to cover full ALM, we can go for TFS integration with project server.

    Thanks, Lovely
