Can't delete Out of Box Driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently I deleted a touch pad driver from the 'out-of-box' driver but did not select (Force) option so even though the touch pad driver does not show in the MMC out of box folders it still is in the Out-Of-Box Drivers folder under my deployment share.  I have tried deleting the the touch pad folder from that share but when I do that I get a warning at the end of imaging a computer.

So how do I get rid of this unwanted touch pad file?

    Thanks for your Help

  • Hi Kris,

Everything you do within MDT is controlled and watched over by the XML files located in your .\DeploymentShare\Control folder. There you will find XML files such as:

    Applications
    ApplicationGroups
    TaskSequence
    TaskSequenceGroups

And there you will also find:

    Out-of-box-Drivers
    Out-of-box-DriversGroups

You will need to either delete the driver XML files and reimport all other drivers, or manually edit the XML files since they still got a record of that particular driver in the XML file, however since you deleted the actual file and folder in your share, this driver cannot be located.

You decide what's easier for you to do!

    Cheers! Rens
