Signed in with a temporary profile! HELP! RRS feed

  • Hello,

    Logging in to my PC today and it says I've been logged in with a temporary profile.

    I now cant access my documents or favourites. Can you tell my how to fix this.

    This problem most occurs if the current user's profile was accidentally deleted from the system. To fix the issue, I suggest you try the steps below.

    1. Log on with an administrator account.
    2. Save the data of the missing user profile (if it is still available) and then delete it.

    3.  The data is located here: %SystemDrive%\Users\{username}

    4. Click on Start > Run > Type "Regedit" and hit the Enter key.

    5. Go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.

    6. Delete the user profile ending with the .bak extension.

    7. Close the Registry Editor and restart Windows.
