How to add a reg key to ms project with registry editor? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Our client is working with project server 2003. One of the users is getting an error message when openning Pro: "Incompatible Code Pages", below the details are: "The project server is using codepage 1252 (ANSI - Latin I); Your computer is using codepage 1255 (ANSI - Hebrew)"

We used to solve it by running a file with .reg suffix. However, trying to do this for this user lead to the message

Adding information can unintentionally change or delete values and cause components to
stop working correctly. If you do not trust the source of this information in
CAUsers\volachvo\Desktop\Project 2003 Client Fix.reg, do not add it to the registry

    Clicking "Yes" resulted in:

Cannot import C:\Users\... The specified file is not
    a registry script.
You can only import binary registry file from within the registry editor

I assume this is due to moving to OS Win 7.

    How is it done?

  • Hi, Barak:

The .reg file you are trying to import doesn't have the expected format. A sample .reg file could be the following:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Compare with your registry scripts to see if you need to upgrade them.
