WSUS connection error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Installed WSUS role on Server 2012 R2. After launching the post-installation tasks, I run through WSUS Server Configuration Wizard.... and start the initial sync, after 27% complete, the WSUS connection fails. I've restarted the server and roles without success.

    The log shows:

The WSUS administration console was unable to connect to the WSUS Server via the remote API.

Verify that the Update Services service, IIS and SQL are running on the server. If the problem persists, try restarting IIS, SQL, and the Update Services Service.

The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,

Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

  • Hi,

under C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Temp we should have the post-installation log file, could you please check it and post here any errors?

    BR,

    Andrei

We could change the world, if God would give us the source code.

  • 1. increase WSUS app pool memory a below,

    https://www.saotn.org/wsuspool-keeps-crashing-stops/

    2. Check WSUS log and share it for further support

    3. Check WSUS server connection status to Microsoft update servers

    4. If you can uninstall WSUS, please uninstall role, clean WID DB location and try by reinstalling as fresh

    5. If you use SQL for WSUS, What is the SQL version? Don't use SQL express because there are few limitations of it for WSUS
