Skype for Business displays incorrect offline time duration RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're using Skype for Business as part of Office 365. When I viewed a conversation this morning that I had last Friday, it told me that my colleague has been offline for 24 days. This is clearly incorrect, as he was online 3 days ago:

Any ideas what could cause this incorrect offline duration?

  • Hi Chris Herdt,

It’s a known issue that the LastActive attribute provides inaccurate information

  • It was the known issue. To fix this issue, install the February 2017 cumulative update 6.0.9319.277 for Skype for Business Server 2015.

  • Hi Eric,

Any update on the issue? Does Microsoft already have answer on this?

    Thanks.

  • This issue is still not resolved for Office 365 users and the suggestion to install an update for Skype Business Server is not an option for Office 365 customers. People I am actively chatting with are showing 'Away 24 Days' and have their status set to 'Available'.

The KB Article suggests that for Skype for Business Online, this issue is resolved, but it clearly is not.

  • We are still intermittently experiencing this issue for a nonspecific group of users. It would be nice to know if there is an upcoming fix. In the meantime, we patiently wait.

  • This issue is still not resolved and it is July 2019 with the Skype for Business for Office 365 MSO (16.0.11727.20222) 32-bit.

I have one user showing 317 days offline (they were online just 5 days ago) and another showing 64 days who was online just a day ago.

I have to ask - since it would appear a resolution to this was mentioned from 2017 why isn't the fix currently in place or has there been a regression?

  • We see the same thing in our O365 tenant. We have users 545days offline and they haven't even been with us that long and we haven't been using O365 for that long either. The logout and log back in thing is very lame and temporary as the users still show incorrect presence after a time. I am regularly being pinged because I show away for 5-6 hours when I have just been chatting with someone 15 min ago.
