  • Question

  • Since upgrading to windows 10 everyday my PC restarts itself after updating windows defender.  I have tried  to stop auto updates but nothing seems to be helping.  I don't mind the update but each time my PC restarts i loose work.  How can i stop the automatic restart?

You computer is restarting due to a blue screen or STOP error. That's what
the Bug Check error will say.

I personally don't examine dump files but if you locate the dump file and
upload to OneDrive there are MVPs here who can look at it for you.

For the most part Windows Defender updates do not require a restart so I'm not really sure that is the root cause of your problem.

Check the System event log for events relating to restarts and post the details here.
