  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there any way to get Steady State to work on Windows Vista? If not, when will an update be availible? Will the Shared Computer Toolkit that pre-dated Steady State work with Vista? If there is no way currently to get any of these products to work, what would be some alternatives to securing about 15 school-use laptops?

  • Hi John,

Please understand that Shared Computer Toolkit and SteadyState are designed for Windows XP. We don’t have a RTM for Vista yet. You can refer to the following thread:

For your information, if these computers are working in a domain environment, we can configure group policies to protect the computers. Otherwise, you can set up limited user accounts to restrict the usage of the system. You also need to install an antivirus program to protect the computers.
