Comments on documents are duplicated when saved in SharePoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

We are using Office 365, two colleagues of mine are working on a document that has been around for sometime.  They have uploaded the document to Sharepoint and whenever the two of them work on the document and leave a comment for the other person on the Word document and save it for the other person, the comment seems to duplicate.  There will be instances when the same comment appears 8-10 times.

I looked for topics on this issue and could not find anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Sayeed

  • Hello,

Check the friendly name  in the following Identities key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity  on the users machines.  Make sure that is correct and matches their display name.

If that does not resolve your issue I would recommend opening a support ticket so we can troubleshoot the issue further.

It's recommended to download and install Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office programs.
