Best Practice/Backup Solution before Delete Domain RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    Planning to delete one of child domain in my environment. This domain is currently have inactive accounts alone. May i know what kind of backup should be taken before delete this child domain. If in case, we need to recover any configuration/account/information from this domain, is restoring the backup will work?

  • Hi Hannah,

    Thanks for the articles. The articles are showing for old version of windows servers. Do we have anything for server 2016? I am looking more specific to recover a domain completely from a backup.

  • Looks like System State backup of domain controller will be enough in your case.

    In addition you could power off all DCs in child domain for week and check out any possible issuies after that.
