  • I don't know where you problem is but do it step by step:
    1. Insert embedded object
    2. Edit to the size. that you need
    3. draw a object, that you need (it can be drawn over the embedded object)
    4. If you want you can group`em

  • Did you actually try this, or just believe that it would still work because it worked in 2003?

This works iin Word2007 and PowerPoint2007, but not in Excel. I am looking for a workaround.

  • I did this using the same scheme before suggesting it to you.

  • This only works if you are editing the embedded object when you draw the object.

What I want to do is draw an arrow that points from some cell in excel (outside of the embedded object) and points to some part of the embedded object. When you do this, the arrow always goes behind the embedded object.

  • Try to select the arrow as "on top"

  • Has this been resolved as I cannot place anything on top of embedded cad drawings.  when opening existing excel 2000 sheets all the text box's , arrows etc are put behind the embedded object and no matter which you select, bring to front or send to back they do not move.  Has any one found  work around?
