Exchange Server 2016 Management Pack? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Guys,

Exchange Server 2016 have been released for a few months. We are expecting a new management pack for Exchange 2016 to help us to monitor the server health. Anyone knows whether there will be one for Exchange 2016?

    Thanks,

    Z.

  • Up to now, Microsoft has not release the Exchange 2016 Management Pack for SCOM. some more time is needed for Microsoft to doing this.

  • Thanks Roger.

Without Exchange 2016 Management Pack, do you know when can I refer to the (recommended) performance counters that I can use to monitor Exchange 2016?

    Z.

  • Hello,

From my point of view, Exchange 2016 performance counters should be almost the same as Exchange 2013.

  • Hi There,

As of i see many 2016 product management packs are out, So Exchange 2016 may be on the line.

Please keep looking in the below URL frequently so you may see if Exchange 2016 is added to the list.

  • Hi all,

that is absolutely NOT acceptable. Please vote on the uservoice post:

    https://systemcenterom.uservoice.com/forums/293064-general-operations-manager-feedback/suggestions/13378500-exchange-2016-mp

    Update:
A PM wrote me: Exchange 2016 is supported via the 2013 MP. Bad luck that neither the name, nor the docu has been updated to reflect that.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • It would be great to get "official" confirmation of this but I was informed by our Microsoft account rep that they won't be releasing an Exchange 2016 management pack in the near future because the Exchange 2013 management pack is able to monitor it with no changes necessary. Since Managed Availability is doing most of the work, the 'Escalate Responder' can escalate to SCOM regardless of whether it's 2013 or 2016.  If anyone hears otherwise, let us know!

  • Also, SCOM guru Kevin Holman has stated here that the 2013 MP can discover and monitor Exchange 2013 and 2016.
