Creating a Secure Store Target Application – Members Box does not accept a local group RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Microsoft Server 2010 running in VMware with local accounts only.

I have run into a problem whilst configuring reporting for PS 2010.

The system is not accepting the ProjReportViewers security group I have set up – as follows:

In Central Administration, Edit Secure Store Target Application, Specify the membership Settings, Members - on entry of the security group <database name>\<user group name> (which is accepted when I click on Check Names) and then clicking ok I get the message “No exact match was found. Click the items that did not resolve for more options”

Does this option only work for Domain Groups?

  • Hi,

sorry, you really need AD groups. Have a look at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff426868.aspx:

"Configuring reporting and business intelligence in Project Server 2010 requires two Active Directory directory service groups — one for report authors and one for report viewers. These groups are given different permissions when you configure reporting. ...."
