  • Hi

    May I know if you want to start SharePoint Distributed Cache Service? If yes, please use below PowerShell.

    $instance = Get-SPServiceInstance | ? {$_.TypeName -eq "Distributed Cache" -and $_.Server.Name -eq $env:computername}

    $instance.Provision()

    Also you can use below PowerShell to check the status.

    Use-CacheCluster

    Get-CacheHost

  • Hi,

    If you have 2 app servers and the Distributed Cache Service is running in one and stopped in the second app server it is fine. it is expected behavior and you cannot start the distributed cache on the apps server 2.

    If your Distributed Cache Service is not at all running on both the servers then You could use the PowerShell command to start the Distributed Cache service. For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.

    The article below is about how to start and stop the Distributed Cache service.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219613.aspx#startstopcache

    Hope this helps!
