Failed Installation of DeployR Enterprise 8.0.0 on Windows 10 Professional RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I try to install DeployR Enterprise 8.0.0 on Windows 10 Professional. With all dependencies installed as instructed in I still continue got an error like the following screenshot. I've installed JDK and JRE 7u79, Revolution R Enterprise 8.0.0, MongoDB in %TEMP%/MONGODB_DEPLOYR/mongodb-win32-x86_64-2008plus-2.6.7 and deployrRserve_7.4.2 library. What else can be wrong?

  • Hi,

the typical reason is that you only installed the 32-Bit version of the Java runtime. DeployR requires the 64-bit version of the Java Runtime...

    Best regards!

  • Same problem as fta.phi, and I double check JRE Version (64 bits and the latest and all the prerequisites are installed...

  • Hi,

there seems to be another issue with the MongoDB installation (I did not see this myself). You might want to check the "old" forum entry here:!topic/deployr/JwSa0ErIXNo

    Good luck!

  • In my personal case, I only install DeployR Open so no MongoDB problem.

  • I also got the same problem.

I find a error log : %TEMP%\DeployR-configuration.log. It must be windows 10 doesn't support DeployR...

  • Hello,

I found the source of the problem with the installation under Windows 10.  Specifically the "not 64-bit OS" error message in the logs.

Basically the requirements detection script looks for a key that matches "Wow6432Node".

On my Windows 10 installation, and probably yours as well, the key is "WOW6432Node".  Observe the uppercase in "WOW".

As a workaround start the registry editor "regedit.exe" and go to the following node,

then add a key with the following name,

    (without the quotes)

The registry editor (or is it windows?) is not case sensitive on key names so one can not add another key with the same name but different case.  And modifying the existing "WOW6432Node" key could also have unsuspected side effects, so better to add an extra key here.

One last thing.  Under windows 10 you will need to install the Visual Studio 2013 redistributable runtime (I choose the 64-bit file, "vcredist_x64.exe") before running the DeployR setup.  Otherwise the installation will fail at the end when trying to complete its configuration.
