Lync telephony question

Question
-
We have Lync deployed. we are 100 users
Standard edition with, 1 edge. Everything works great.
Our old Nortel BCM 50 is about to die, and wanted to know what are my option with Lync.
I have read lots of think about Entreprise voice, adding a Media Gateway, SIP Trunking ....Just not sure what I should go for.
We will also move to Office 365....will that matter?
Thanks for any hints

Hi EQ,
For 100 users, I would defenetly go for a Sip Trunking: You can find the supported Lync SIP Trunk provider here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/gg131938#tab=4
Be aware that you will need a Mediation server role (and not just the Media Bypass)
As for your Office 365 projet, keep in mind that voice is currently not working in Office 365.
But you could have Lync on premise (which is already setup anyway) and hosted Exchange + hosted UM (for your voice mail) in the cloud.
Good luck

Thanks for the quick reply.
I will take a look at the SIP providers. I am in Canada, are they any good providers?
What do you mean by hosted UM?
Thanks

In Canada, Thinktel is really good.
We are actually using it :-)
Since you will get rid of your PBX, I assume that you will need a voice mail solution?Office 365 allows you to have your voice mail in Exchange 2010 (Exchange Unified Messaging but in the cloud)
So that way, you will have a complet voice solution. You can find more info here:
Deployment Process for Integrating Hosted Exchange UM with Lync Server 2010
