SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER stored proceedure missing! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a new install of SCCM2K12 and I noticed an error in the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component. It can't find 'dbo.spGetRemoteInventorySchemaDifferences'. Below is the error message.

Severity Type Site code Date / Time System Component Message ID Description
Error Milestone AWC 2/13/2013 3:49:02 PM SCCM.domain.com SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER 620 Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 2812, severity 16: [42000][2812][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.spGetRemoteInventorySchemaDifferences'.    Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.

Sure enough, I went into SQL Managemnet studio and that stored procedure is nowhere to be found. I did some searching online for the error message and searched the forums but I've found nothing. I figured I'd post here in case anyone knew of this problem before I open a case with Microsoft. I just noticed that rollup 1 is out for SP1 so I'm going to try to apply that also.

System Info (All software installed on same server.)

    Windows Server 2012

    SQL Server Standard 2012 w/SP1

    System Center 2012 w/SP1

Are you sure? I haven't heard about such a "rollup 1". (There is one for other System Center products, but not for ConfigMgr if I am not mistaken)

I was mistaken. During my posting I discovered that rollup 1 existed for SP1 but didn't realize at the time that it was for other components. I tried to find the download last night for ConfigMgr but as you said it is for other components. :( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2785682/en-us

  • You only option is to contact CSS for support. Since editing the database is not supported without contacting them.

On a side note you could try to reapply SP1 to see if that solves your problem.

  • I did open a case but I have not heard back from them yet. I did the install from media which already included SP1 baked (slipstreamed) in.

  • Did you fix the problem?

We are experiencing the same issue in our enviroment (SCCM 2012 SP1/SQL 2012/Server 2012). During 4 months everything went fine: no important errors were found in SCCM logs, but since last week, the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER is full of this errors. It's rare because there were no important changes in our enviroment, the only thing I did was few basic tests with DCM (create few CIs, 2 baselines and two deployments to one collection just to see if DCM worked properly). Apart from that, there where no changes.

Sorry if my English is not perfect.

    Thank you.
