When mobile app is in background state, it does not react to few instructions. RRS feed

  • Question

  • we have developed an Win 10 compatible mobile app in which we are using MessageWebSocket for WebSocket connectivity. The main problem which we are facing with this app is it does not recognize few instructions when running in background mode. For ex. it does not updating the data in CSV file, it does not launch any app if it has been asked to do so etc. The class (MessageWebSocket) itself provide support for returning results from the websocket server, but the main issue is that in case of CSV, even after receiving the response from the webSocket when the application is in background, it discarding those results due to some unknown reasons & nothing is being updated in CSV. In case of Launch application commands, the app stores those commands locally when running in background and as soon as the app is brought back in foreground it executes all the stored launch app commands.

We are looking for a solution to access & update the data in CSV files & execute the launch app commands in real time when app is running in background mode.

  • Hi IPSingh.

I suggest you to ask this question in the MSDN Forums related to Windows Phone/Mobile development, which are more appropriate for this kind of topics.
