SSPR error 3008 - comm with wrong server RRS feed

  • Question

  • When attempting SSPR registration, the password site is attempting to connect to the wrong location.

    During setup, the FIM service address was set to fimservice.customer.corp - and that's what shows up in the registration site's web.config

     <resourceManagementClient resourceManagementServiceBaseAddress="http://fimservice.company.corp:5725" timeoutInMilliseconds="60000" />

    However, the event log shows a completely different hostname that its trying to connect to. Where is it getting that hostname from??

    Microsoft.IdentityManagement.CredentialManagement.Portal.Exceptions.GenericCommunicationException: Could not connect to http://myidentity.company.corp:5726/ResourceManagementService/SecurityTokenService/Registration. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.64.12.41:5726.  ---> System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect...

  • when u installed FIMService, the installer asked you the DNS name of FIMService. You must have entered myidentity.company.corp.

    To change that, go to FIMService's *.exe.config, change externalHostname

    Thanks Tony! The resourceManagementClient
    resourceManagementServiceBaseAddress value was also incorrectly set.

  • Thanks Tony! You've always got the answer for these issues..

    Paul and I are both working on that issue on a project. I looked all through the Web side. Didn't think to check on the service end config.
