My goal is to have 5 computers connected to a windows 2012 server so anyone can log into any of the 5 computers. Also I want to send programs from the server to the 5 computers.
example 1:
For example I should be able to log into any computer with my account.
example 2:
I want to be able to install minesweeper on all 5 computers from the server. (They need to be installed locally)
This seems like something that should be super simple to do.

For Example 1, you need to install Active Directory Domain Services role, followed by creating an Active Directory domain on your server. Then create your user accounts in AD, and join the 5 computers to the AD domain. Result: any user account can log into any of the 5 computers. I found a URL for beginners here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/12370.windows-server-2012-set-up-your-first-domain-controller-step-by-step.aspx
For Example 2, you can use Group Policy Software Installation to install minesweeper on all 5 computers from the server. Demonstration here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zadvca6LlzA

Hi,
As Todd suggested, for me, creating your environment as a domain is the easiest way.
Once you install a domain, you could delegate the permission for specific accounts to log on all computers in the domain. Please see details from: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772723(v=ws.10).aspx
Regarding to send programs from the server to all computers, you can use Group Policy to distribute computer programs following the step-by-step article as below which describes how to use Group Policy to automatically distribute programs to client computers or users.
