What changes Tabbed Browsing Settings? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In my IE 10 on Windows 7 I set the Tabbed Browsing Option - When a new tab is opened, open: The new tap page, but often the setting is changed.  What changes the settings behind the scene?  It only happens on my laptop and happened in IE 9 on the same machine.  On my desktop the setting stays as I set it.

I think I have both machines configured the same but something causes IE to change the setting.  What code would change the setting?

  • Hi,

IE Reset or GPO or some incompatible Addons (yahoo, ask and others used to customize the about:tabs setting)... you may have installed an unwanted addon recently when you updated your Flash...

the first step in troubleshooting IE issues is to run in noAddons mode.

    Regards.

  • Hi,

Have you tried to disable all the add-ons to test the result.

In addition, you can reset internet explorer settings to its default settings:

    1). Open Internet Explorer.

2). Click the Tools button or press Alt key + X, and then click Internet Options.

3). Under Advanced tab, click on Reset.

4). Check the Delete personal settings box.

5). Click on Reset and then Close.

6). Close all open Internet explorer windows and re-open it.

    Hope this helps.
