DPM 2012 Upgrade & VMWare Backups RRS feed

  • Question

  • DPM 2012 R2 Version 4.2.1589

Upgrading to 2016 is not supported when the VMWare backup option is enabled (not supported in 2016).

However- is there a manual process for removing this option to then upgrade to DPM 2016?

    TIA.

  • Hi,

Hacking the DPMDB is not supported and the official stance by the DPM product group is you will need to wait for DPM 2016 to add formal support for VMware protected before an upgrade will be possible.

DPM 2016 support for VMware protection is delayed
